Green Bay Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst said the team will wait for the legal process to develop before determining whether running back Josh Jacobs will play this season. Jacobs was placed on the commissioner’s exempt list after being formally charged last week with misdemeanor battery and misdemeanor criminal damage to property over a May 23 incident at his Wisconsin home. He can work out at the Packers’ facility but cannot practice or play while on the list. Head coach Matt LaFleur said he expects to support Jacobs’ continued presence, while acknowledging that the team and public do not know all the details. Jacobs, 28, remains under contract through the 2027 season and was a major part of Green Bay’s offense after scoring 14 touchdowns in 2025, including 13 rushing. The Packers would rely on MarShawn Lloyd, Chris Brooks and Kaleb Johnson if Jacobs is unavailable, with Pierre Strong Jr. on the practice squad.
