Strategy chairman Michael Saylor has likened accumulating Bitcoin to an aristocratic sport, posting a 25-second golf-course video that frames long-term buying as a disciplined strategic game and stating that rich people like to buy Bitcoin and that buying Bitcoin makes you rich. The message aligns with Strategy’s September figures showing $66 billion in Total Reserve Capital, ranking second among S&P 500 financial companies behind only Berkshire Hathaway’s $364 billion, with a record 10.75x reserve coverage ratio, though analysts note $14.8 billion in preferred-share obligations would cut net reserves to $50.7 billion if excluded. CEO Phong Le said decisions turn on the cost of capital rather than Bitcoin’s price, citing summer sales of about 7,000 BTC near $60,000 to $65,000 to cover preferred obligations and a late-August buy of 4,603 BTC at $80,318 after raising $602.8 million in equity funding. Strategy now holds 845,050 BTC worth about $65.2 billion at $77,200, plus $6.7 billion in cash, and Le said the firm would keep buying when financing allows, including at $100,000, as a two-way capital management company.
