Glean said on August 26, 2026, that its AI Assistant used 70% fewer tokens than Anthropic's Claude Cowork across more than 180 enterprise tasks, reducing average per-task token costs by 81%. Glean reported average costs of $0.58 per task, compared with $2.98 for Claude Cowork. The company attributed the difference to a pre-indexed, permission-aware context graph spanning more than 275 business applications and automated routing across more than 40 models. In related testing conducted between May and July 2026, evaluators preferred Glean's remote setup about 2.5 times more often than off-the-shelf Model Context Protocol tools used in Claude Cowork, while human graders preferred Glean's outputs 78% of the time. Glean commissioned the evaluation, and independent reviewers identified methodological discrepancies, although they did not dispute the core efficiency claim. The company reached $300 million in Annual Recurring Revenue in May 2026, up from just over $100 million about 15 months earlier, and was valued at $7.2 billion in a June 2025 Series F funding round. Glean introduced its Tau desktop AI workspace alongside the benchmark. Its broader competition includes Microsoft Copilot and Google's Gemini, while customers such as Intuit and Booking.com use its tools.
