By 9:15 a.m., the index had narrowed its decline to 2.7%, trading at 6,651.1. Samsung Electronics fell 3.07% to 253,000 won, while SK Hynix dropped 3.01% to 1.642 million won. The 10-year U.S. Treasury yield reached 4.788% during trading on Sept. 1, its highest level since Jan. 14, 2025, while WTI crude for October delivery jumped 5.2% to $90.22 after further U.S.-Iran military escalation. Kiwoom Securities researcher Han Ji-young advised investors to monitor whether the conflict eases and advanced-economy long-term rates stabilize, while maintaining existing positions or considering phased purchases during any further sharp decline.
