Koscom and Hyundai Motor Securities signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate on KoSTO, Koscom's shared token securities platform, covering system integration, product development, issuance and account-management procedures, and joint testing tied to legal, regulatory and investor-protection requirements. Hyundai Motor Securities' participation lifts KoSTO's partner securities firms to 13 from 12. South Korea's token securities regime is scheduled to take effect in February 2027, correcting a prior account that placed the rollout in February 2026. Koscom has completed issuance infrastructure with LG CNS and total-volume management linkage test-bed work with the Korea Securities Depository, and is advancing a stablecoin settlement proof of concept plus tokenization plans for investment contract securities, trust beneficiary certificates and conventional securities such as bonds. Shared use of KoSTO is framed as a way to cut duplicated build costs and ease entry for smaller brokerages, while final legislation and supervisory rules remain outstanding ahead of the 2027 start.
