BTCB2, a coin on a separate chain created by changing Bitcoin’s proof-of-work (computational transaction-validation process) from SHA-256d to BLAKE2b, traded at about $82 on Neoxa Exchange, Bitcoin News reported. Bitcoin was trading at about $77,000 at the same time, putting BTCB2 roughly 99.9% below its price. An order book shared by Bitcoin News on X showed a highest bid of $82 and a lowest ask of $190, a $108 spread equal to 131.7%. Ask prices reached $389, indicating that limited trading activity could make the market vulnerable to sharp moves from relatively small orders. The coin emerged amid earlier debate over Bitcoin BIP-110, during which some supporters advocated a separate chain using BLAKE2b proof-of-work.
