Costco Wholesale Corporation has closed Costco Next, its curated online marketplace that operated since 2017, without announcing the move to members beforehand. The service allowed members to order discounted products and services directly from several dozen selected companies, including Anker Electronics, Priority Bicycles and Viking Culinary. Costco's website now says access to the storefronts is no longer available and directs customers to participating vendors for eligible returns and warranty inquiries. The shutdown contrasts with comments from CFO Gary Millerchip during Costco's fiscal 2025 third-quarter earnings call that sales during the three months ended May 11, 2025, matched the program's total sales for fiscal 2022 and that new vendors were being developed. Costco has provided limited public information about the closure and did not immediately respond to USA TODAY's request for comment.
