President Donald Trump denied an ABC report that he was trying to bring Iran to the negotiating table. In a September 1 Truth Social post, Trump said he did not care whether Tehran signed a deal that would be of no value to it. He claimed the United States had almost complete control of the Strait of Hormuz and that Iran’s economy was collapsing entirely. Trump also asked when the Iranian people would rise up and fight, as military clashes between the United States and Iran intensified around the waterway.
