South Korea’s KOSPI swung from a 1.83% intraday gain to a 1.88% decline within minutes, highlighting escalating volatility in the country’s equity market. The index reached 6,682.97 before falling to 6,439.49 and stood at 6,490.63 by 2:30 p.m. on the 3rd, down 72.09 points, or 1.10%, from the previous session. Retail investors sold a net 544.7 billion won, foreign investors 512.8 billion won and institutions 412.2 billion won, while Other Corporations bought 1.4731 trillion won. The KOSDAQ fell 2.17% to 786.52. The KOSPI had already dropped 3.99% the previous day, ending a three-day winning streak. Gate market data also showed SK Hynix and Samsung Electronics each falling more than 4% during the session.
