The New Jersey Devils acquired forward Luke Evangelista from the Nashville Predators for draft capital, including New Jersey's 2028 second-round pick and a first-round pick via the Colorado Avalanche. The Colorado pick is conditional on it not transferring to the Toronto Maple Leafs and not falling in the top 10. Evangelista, 24, posted career highs of 81 games, 44 assists and 56 points with 12 goals in his fourth NHL season, his first campaign above 50 points. Selected by Nashville in the second round of the 2020 draft, he has 45 goals and 97 assists for 142 points in 253 games. He is entering the final year of a two-year contract worth $3 million.
