Gate launched U.S. stock options trading on Sept. 2, initially covering Nvidia, Tesla, Apple, Meta, AMD, Micron, Amazon, Alphabet Class A and Broadcom. Options are settled in USDT, and exercising a contract does not result in delivery of the underlying shares. Users do not need a separate brokerage or margin account. Gate will not charge separate platform or options brokerage fees during the initial rollout, although third-party charges from regulators and clearing organizations, including the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, still apply. Trading is initially available only during regular U.S. market hours. The launch adds options to Gate's stock offering across U.S., Hong Kong, South Korean and Japanese markets, which the platform says covers more than 12,800 stocks and ETFs and includes fractional-share trading, stock dividends and cross-broker transfers.
