The two records describe separate second-quarter 2026 wage releases: Slovakia’s real wages fell 0.5% year-on-year, ending 10 consecutive quarters of growth, while Czech real wages rose 4.3% year-on-year for a tenth consecutive period but slowed from the previous quarter and missed the 5% market forecast. Slovak average nominal monthly wages increased 3.2% to EUR 1,707, but inflation eroded purchasing power. Czech average gross monthly nominal wages rose 6.4% to CZK 51,966. In Slovakia, nominal wages increased in 16 of 19 monitored sectors, led by real estate activities, while public administration recorded the sharpest nominal and real-wage declines. In the Czech Republic, administrative and support services posted the strongest wage growth. First-half Slovak nominal wages rose 4.6% to EUR 1,659 and real wages increased 0.9%; the Czech first-half average wage rose 6.2% to CZK 50,650.
