AirAsia has launched its first-ever codeshare partnership with Turkish low-cost carrier Pegasus Airlines, linking Southeast Asia and Europe through Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen International Airport. The arrangement initially covers London Stansted, Moscow Vnukovo, Ankara Esenboga, Zurich and Athens, with access expected to expand progressively to more than 100 routes across the airlines’ combined networks. Passengers will be able to book a single itinerary and check baggage through to their final destination without rechecking during the Istanbul connection. AirAsia X will increase its Kuala Lumpur-Istanbul service from four to seven flights a week by February 2027. The route has connected Southeast Asia and Türkiye since November 2025. Pegasus CEO Guliz Ozturk said Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen provides a natural link between Europe and Asia, while AirAsia Group CEO Bo Lingam described the deal as a milestone in the company’s 25th year. Pegasus’ European network spans 160 destinations in 56 countries, while AirAsia offers connections to more than 140 destinations across the Asia-Pacific region.
