Argentine President Javier Milei’s online influence has weakened as he faces greater uncertainty over a reelection bid next year. Mentions of Milei across social media platforms and websites fell to about 3.7 million in June, down 72% from a peak of 12.6 million in February 2025, according to communications consultancy Ad Hoc. Engagement with his posts on X has also declined 62% since he took office. Several of Milei’s digital allies have resigned or been arrested over alleged serious legal violations or corruption, while divisions have emerged among his online supporters. An economic slowdown, legislative setbacks and multiple scandals have further weakened his anti-establishment narrative.
