AI company Owkin signed a licensing agreement with Germany’s Boehringer Ingelheim, giving the drugmaker access to its K Pro AI research platform and patient data to accelerate drug discovery for cancer and immunity-related diseases. The deal follows a 2025 pilot in which Owkin used Boehringer’s patient tumor samples and related biological datasets to help prioritize potential drug targets, Owkin CEO Thomas Clozel told Reuters. Under the new agreement, Owkin will license multimodal oncology data to Boehringer and generate new immunology data through its global patient data network. Financial terms were not disclosed. Boehringer joins AstraZeneca, which licensed K Pro in May, and Sanofi, which expanded its partnership with Owkin through a five-year agreement in June.
