Anthropic is releasing Claude blueprints that let retailers, travel companies and ticketing platforms build customer-facing shopping agents and internal merchant agents as consumers increasingly use conversational search. Adobe Analytics reported that retail visits driven by AI convert at a 60% higher rate than traffic from other sources, while Anthropic said one partner saw cart size rise about 30% to 35% and customers become about 60% more likely to complete a purchase. The blueprints are guidelines rather than finished products: shopping agents can recommend products based on preferences and add items to carts, while merchant agents can advise on inventory, pricing and marketing without completing purchases. The retail initiative coincides with Anthropic's launch of Claude Fable 5.1 and a tighter usage structure for advanced models. Fable 5.1 costs $10 per million input tokens and $50 per million output tokens through the developer API, while access for several subscription tiers is limited or requires additional usage credits.
