Societe Generale’s euro-pegged stablecoin EURCV added $5.6 million to its market capitalization over the past week, making it the second-fastest-growing euro stablecoin behind Circle’s EURC, which gained $10.3 million. EURCV is issued by SG Forge, Societe Generale’s digital-assets subsidiary, and launched in 2023 as a 1:1 euro-backed electronic money token operating on Ethereum and Solana. Its market capitalization is estimated at $140 million to $180 million, while all euro-denominated stablecoins together account for roughly $650 million to $780 million. The token’s reported price is $0, with no trading volume in the previous 24 hours, indicating limited observable trading activity even as its market capitalization increased. EURCV is MiCA-compliant, listed on Bitstamp and other platforms, and designed for cross-border payments, tokenized-asset settlement and DeFi integration. Its growth highlights continued interest in euro-native stablecoins as European institutions seek alternatives to dollar-based digital finance, although bank-issued tokens remain exposed to regulatory, capital and reputational risks.
