U.S. President Donald Trump said he plans extensive travel during the final 30 days before November’s midterm elections, including stops in Alaska, to campaign for congressional candidates and a few governors. His approval rating stands at 33%, the lowest of his political career, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll conducted two months before election day. Republicans are defending slim majorities in the House and Senate against a seemingly more enthusiastic Democratic Party. Trump recently traveled to Texas for a fundraiser supporting Senate candidate and state Attorney General Ken Paxton, and to South Carolina to campaign for Darline Graham in a Senate primary she won. He said he would visit Alaska to support Senator Dan S. Sullivan’s reelection bid.
