Good Good Golf CEO Matt Kendrick and President Joe Flannery left the company Wednesday as the golf and lifestyle brand faced fallout from a controversial Callaway advertisement. Nahid Giga, a Good Good co-founder and one of its first investors, became interim CEO effective immediately, according to a Sept. 2 staff email from Chief Financial Officer Alex Puchala. The ad showed co-founder Garrett Clark shoving female golfer Alexis Miestowski to the ground when she tried to use his driver, prompting widespread criticism that it trivialized violence against women. Good Good and Callaway apologized, but Callaway ended its three-year partnership with the company. Good Good also stepped back from sponsoring a PGA Tour tournament, while fallout included the cancellation of a planned Golf Channel show and the removal of Good Good products from some retail shelves. Kendrick later accused Callaway on social media of asking Good Good to take responsibility before ending the relationship. Clark and the creator team will remain with the company.
