Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) criticized President Donald Trump after he proposed renaming the Strait of Hormuz the "TRUMP STRAIT." Sanders said the Iran conflict had pushed diesel prices to $5.69 a gallon and gasoline prices to $4.12, while Schumer said Americans were more focused on health care, fuel and grocery costs. Trump said the waterway was under U.S.A. control and asked whether it should be renamed, as reports also said Russia was secretly helping Iran develop advanced supersonic cruise missiles. The proposal followed other Trump-backed or pursued renaming efforts involving Lake Ontario, Palm Beach International Airport, the Kennedy Center and Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
