The S&P Global Russia Services PMI (business activity survey index) rose to 51.3 in August 2026 from 49.0 in July, marking the sector’s first expansion since February. Growth reflected higher business activity, renewed new sales and stronger customer demand. Input costs increased because of higher energy and transportation expenses, but inflation eased to its joint-weakest level of 2026 and stayed below the series average. Companies raised selling prices more quickly to pass on costs and protect margins. Business confidence reached a five-month high as firms anticipated stronger demand and investment.
