Uphold is preparing an Earn on XRP feature covering roughly 1.62 billion XRP held on its platform, Chief Product Officer Paul Underwood said at the XRP Vegas conference and later on X. The tool is in the final development stages, with more details expected in the coming weeks after delays. Because the XRP Ledger does not support native staking like Ethereum or Solana, Uphold may need mechanisms such as DeFi lending protocols or wrapped tokens through Flare Network to generate returns. The company is also seeking New York’s BitLicense, and its Proof of Reserves report says XRP represents 1.63% of global circulating supply, making Uphold one of the three largest exchange holders of XRP behind Upbit and Binance. Uphold says it will publish the program’s terms and interest rates in the coming weeks.
