Charter Communications CFO Jessica Fischer is leaving the cable and broadband operator on Oct. 15, 2026, to become CFO of a newly formed joint venture backed by Blackstone and Google. Announced on May 18, 2026, the venture has an initial $5 billion equity commitment from Blackstone and is building a so-called TPU neocloud that will rent access to Google’s custom Tensor Processing Units and dedicated data-center capacity to outside customers. It is targeting 500 megawatts of operational capacity by 2027, with significant expansion planned afterward. Benjamin Treynor Sloss, a longtime Google infrastructure executive, is CEO. Fischer joined Charter in 2017, became EVP of Finance and was elevated to CFO in October 2021. Her move follows Charter’s acquisition of Cox Communications and comes as the company faces stronger competition from fixed-wireless providers and steeper-than-expected broadband subscriber losses. Kevin Howard will become interim CFO on Oct. 15; Charter said the transition will not affect its financial outlook and is searching for a permanent replacement.
