Argentina's Public Prosecutor's Office (MPF) trained prosecutors, officials, magistrates and staff to analyse, trace, detect and seize virtual assets through a specialised online course held via Zoom on Aug. 19 and Sept. 2, 2026. Led by Carmen Chena, an attorney specialising in anti-money laundering frameworks, the programme was titled "Virtual Assets: Financial Analysis, Tracking, Detection and Seizure" and formed part of the MPF's internal academic agenda. The curriculum covered digital-wallet and financial analysis, Argentina's domestic and international legal frameworks, ecosystem mapping, precautionary measures, asset recovery and practical case studies. The training comes as regulators have moved to enforce compliance among digital-asset issuers and the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic has considered rules that could allow commercial banks to facilitate digital-asset trading. In March 2026, Argentina's securities regulator ordered the suspension of ARGt, a peso-pegged stablecoin issued by Twin Finance and offered through Belo, after determining that its yield mechanism, offering up to 32% annual percentage rate, made it a negotiable security and investment contract requiring prior authorization.
