South Korea’s Korea Customs Service will operate a 24-hour special customs clearance support team at 34 customs offices nationwide from Aug. 7 to Aug. 27 ahead of the Chuseok holiday. The agency will also establish express-shipment support teams at five customs offices for overseas direct purchases, intensify inspections and impose additional taxes on delayed declarations involving price-stabilizing goods. Import prices for 89 agricultural, livestock and fishery products will be disclosed on three scheduled dates, while exporting companies will receive expedited customs refunds from Aug. 10 to Aug. 23. Authorities also plan stronger enforcement against false origin labeling on imported ritual and gift products.
