Robinhood Chain experienced a temporary delay posting transaction batches to Ethereum's mainnet on Sept. 4, though Arbitrum said the network did not suffer downtime and user trades continued to process normally. The episode was attributed to conditions in Ethereum's layer-1 blob market. The network has expanded rapidly, generating about $23 million in cumulative fees and roughly $4 million during a recent 24-hour period, according to Entropy Advisors' Tom Wan. Token Terminal estimated Robinhood Chain captured 78.5% of layer-2 revenue in the preceding 30 days, while total value locked rose nearly 27% in a week to about $840 million. The growth has coincided with a dispute between AMC Entertainment CEO Adam Aron and Robinhood over AMC-linked Stock Tokens. Aron said AMC did not authorize or endorse the product, demanded that trading stop and asked securities counsel to assess whether AMC could compel Robinhood to halt it. Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev and Chief Legal Officer Dan Gallagher defended the offering, which Robinhood describes as Jersey-issued tokenized debt securities providing economic exposure to underlying shares without ownership, voting rights or a direct claim on the referenced company. Observers remain divided over the legal and investor-protection implications of the offshore product. AMC issued 342.7 million shares during the first half of 2026 through capital raises and debt-related transactions, while critics of Aron's position argue Robinhood's tokens do not create additional AMC shares. A feud-related AMC memecoin on Robinhood Chain reached a reported $135 million market capitalization and $116 million in trading volume, while AMC shares rose in premarket trading to roughly $3.07 from a Thursday close of $2.54.
