Brazil reported $572 million in crypto asset purchases in July, down almost 80% from June's $2.6 billion and nearly 60% from July 2025's $1.4 billion. The Central Bank of Brazil said most transactions involved stablecoins (crypto tokens designed to track a stable value) and attributed the decline to exchanges adapting to stricter anti-money laundering (AML) controls and governance requirements. Fernando Rocha, head of the central bank’s statistics department, described the market as undergoing reorganization amid intensified supervision and said the remaining months would show how the transaction category performs. Despite the monthly and annual declines, 2026 crypto investments have reached $15.25 billion, more than double the $7.60 billion recorded during the same period in 2025.
