Tyson Foods Inc. lowered its fiscal 2026 revenue growth forecast to 1.5%-2.0% from 2.5%-3.5% and reduced adjusted operating income guidance to $1.85 billion-$2.05 billion from $2.1 billion-$2.3 billion. The second outlook reduction in roughly a month reflects severe margin compression and inventory write-downs in the Beef segment, where the projected operating loss widened to $625 million-$775 million amid historic U.S. cattle shortages and volatile livestock valuations. Tyson said lower cattle prices also reduced the value of live cattle inventories it had already purchased. Shares were trading near flat Friday morning after recovering from earlier lows. Chief Executive Officer Donnie King said Tyson is restructuring its Beef network around three strategically located facilities in the central United States, with cost pressure relief expected to begin in fiscal 2027. Chicken adjusted operating income is projected at $1.85 billion-$1.95 billion, while Pork is expected to contribute $200 million-$250 million. Guidance for Prepared Foods and International was maintained.
