Krafton plans to invest another $250 million in India over the next three to four years, taking its total planned investment in the country above $500 million. The South Korean gaming company, known for PUBG and BGMI, is expanding into AI, robotics and deep tech while continuing to back Indian startups. The pledge is separate from a $670 million India-focused growth fund announced with Naver and Mirae Asset in December 2025, to which Krafton said it would contribute around $137 million at the first close. Krafton’s India strategy has centered on BGMI, a localized version of PUBG that has surpassed 260 million downloads, despite bans in 2020 and 2022. The company plans to launch BGMI Lite by the end of 2026 and has backed about 18 Indian companies.
