The Colorado Rapids acquired English winger Morgan Whittaker from Middlesbrough FC for a reported club-record inbound transfer fee of $10.7 million. Whittaker, 25, is contracted through the 2029-30 MLS season with an option for 2030-31 and will use designated player and international roster slots. He scored 14 goals and supplied seven assists last season as Middlesbrough reached the EFL Championship playoff final. The signing follows Colorado's record $12 million trade of forward Rafael Navarro to St. Louis City, with a further $250,000 potentially payable based on Navarro's performance and a percentage of a future sale also included.
