XDOF, a startup developing data infrastructure for physical robots, is in late-stage talks to raise a Series B at a valuation of about $1.2 billion, with 8VC expected to lead, several people familiar with the deal said. The terms are not final, and the total amount being raised and whether the valuation includes new funding remain unclear. XDOF emerged from stealth on June 17, 2026, after raising a $70 million Series A. The latest account lists Thrive Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Lux and Spark Capital as participants, while an earlier account also named WndrCo. Founded in 2024 by UC Berkeley researchers Philipp Wu and Fred Shentu, XDOF builds teleoperation, data-collection and annotation systems for robotics companies and frontier AI labs. Its annualized revenue was approaching $50 million, and the company was already working with 20 customers. Its technology combines remote robot control with sensor-equipped human operators performing everyday tasks, addressing the shortage of large-scale real-world datasets for training general-purpose robots. XDOF is also partnering with UC Berkeley's AI Research lab to release ABC, which it believes will be the largest collection of high-quality robot-training data assembled. The company has said it plans to recruit and train data collectors worldwide.
