Vesu said a faulty Pragma oracle (external data provider) caused 47 borrowing positions across several pools to be liquidated between 04:08 and 04:10 UTC on Sept. 4, 2026. Automated liquidators removed approximately $3 million in collateral before the price feed returned to its correct value. Vesu said its smart contracts (self-executing blockchain code) operated as designed and contained no vulnerability, meaning the incident resulted from incorrect price inputs rather than faulty contract execution. Pragma has worked with relevant organizations to deploy a fix, while affected pool curators suspended markets as a precaution. Vesu is coordinating with Pragma, StarkWare, the Starknet Foundation, and pool curators to recover funds, but has not disclosed a reimbursement amount, timetable, or recovery mechanism. Earn users were told not to close their positions because doing so may affect refund eligibility, while liquidated borrowers were directed to submit support tickets through Vesu's Discord server.
