Bitmine added 53,501 ETH in the week through Aug. 30, raising its officially disclosed Ethereum treasury to 5.9 million tokens. The company had staked 5,067,309 ETH at a disclosed annualized seven-day yield of 2.67%. If that balance and yield remained unchanged for a year, staking rewards would total about 135,000 ETH, nearly covering the roughly 134,000-token gap between Bitmine’s disclosed holdings and its stated goal of owning 5% of Ethereum’s supply. Lookonchain separately reported on Sept. 1 that wallets linked to Bitmine appeared to acquire another 51,000 ETH from FalconX and BitGo for about $126 million, although Bitmine had not formally confirmed the transaction. Using Bitmine’s benchmark of 120.7 million ETH in circulation, the 5% target requires about 6.035 million tokens. If the additional purchase is confirmed, the remaining gap would be about 83,000 ETH. Chairman and Fundstrat managing partner Tom Lee said the CLARITY Act could "open up the floodgates" for institutional crypto adoption and argued for a unified federal regulatory framework. Ethereum was trading at $2,490.35, with a $303.88 billion market capitalization and $10.32 billion in daily volume, according to CoinMarketCap.
