President Donald Trump’s MAGA Inc. is spending $10 million on television and digital advertising for Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s Senate campaign, its first significant spending in a premier general-election contest. The ads focus on taxes and portray Democrat James Talarico, a 37-year-old state representative, as seeking broad tax increases while presenting Paxton as supporting tax breaks for first-time homebuyers and families with children. Paxton won the Republican nomination after Trump endorsed him in a May primary runoff against incumbent Sen. John Cornyn. The new commitment adds to substantial Republican outside spending after Paxton trailed Talarico in earlier advertising, while Elon Musk’s America PAC has also begun supporting Paxton. MAGA Inc. holds at least $400 million, and Trump has said he will decide how much to spend on candidates and whether to reserve funds for the 2028 elections. The race is attracting national attention as Democrats seek congressional gains and Texas becomes a test of whether economic concerns and opposition to Trump can make a traditionally safe Republican state competitive.
