Japan promulgated Law No. 64 on July 23, 2026, after its upper house approved crypto-market legislation on July 15 that moves digital-asset oversight toward the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act. The measure strengthens rules on disclosures, trading conduct and intermediaries and could provide a legal basis for regulated crypto funds, but no regulator, exchange or asset manager has filed for or approved a Japanese Shiba Inu ETF. Detailed Financial Services Agency rules, product structures, custody standards and listing processes remain necessary, making claims of 2027 crypto ETF launches forecasts rather than confirmed plans. SHIB is included on the Japan Virtual and Crypto Assets Exchange Association’s Green List and was handled by nine member exchanges as of September 1, 2026. Mercoin added SHIB trading through Coincheck in the Mercari app on June 8. SHIB also has a European exchange-traded product, Canadian futures exposure and potential inclusion in T. Rowe Price’s U.S. TKNZ fund, though it has no dedicated U.S. spot ETF. SHIB traded at $0.0000055 at press time, up 8% over seven days and 17% over one month.
