Bloom Energy, Everpure and Illumina will join the S&P 500 before the market opens on Sept. 21, 2026, in S&P Dow Jones Indices' quarterly rebalance. Bloom will replace Molson Coors Beverage, while Everpure and Illumina will displace The Trade Desk and Builders FirstSource; all three departing companies will move to the S&P SmallCap 600. Everpure and Illumina are being promoted from the S&P MidCap 400. The changes add one information-technology and one healthcare constituent to the S&P 500, while consumer staples and communication services each lose a member. Dell Technologies, Palo Alto Networks, Arista Networks and Sandisk will also enter the S&P 100, replacing Honeywell Aerospace, Nike, Simon Property Group and Colgate-Palmolive. Bloom's promotion follows July purchases of 15,000 shares and 200 call options by Nancy Pelosi's household, disclosed publicly on Aug. 21 before S&P's Sept. 4 announcement. The fuel-cell systems provider has benefited from demand for on-site data-center power, backed by a $25 billion AI-power financing framework with Brookfield and an Oracle agreement supporting up to 2.8 GW of capacity. Passive index funds tracking the revised benchmarks will need to adjust their holdings when the changes take effect.
