President Donald Trump shared an AI-generated image depicting himself trading Intel stock from $20 to $95 and claimed that stocks and other assets made "Hundreds of Billions of Dollars" for the United States rather than himself. Intel shares closed at $95.80 on September 4 and reached $95.89 two days later, nearly quadrupling from a 52-week low of $24.05. The post repeated an image format Trump used last September, when Intel was shown rising from $20 to $30 after the government acquired a 9.9% stake. The administration bought about 433.3 million shares at $20.47 each in August 2025 for $8.9 billion, leaving the holding worth several times its original value on paper. The post renewed scrutiny of Trump-linked trading, favorable Truth Social messages and presidential ethics rules. A CNN investigation found purchases in 21 companies shortly before favorable posts, including Intel and Dell Technologies, but no direct evidence connecting the posts to his trading decisions.
