The New York Giants and veteran backup quarterback Jameis Winston have agreed to a two-year, $13 million extension, according to multiple reports on Sunday. The deal keeps Winston under contract with New York through the 2028 season. Winston, 32, is entering his 12th NFL season and serves as the backup to second-year pro Jaxson Dart while also being viewed as a team leader. In his second campaign with New York, Winston passed for 567 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in three games, including two starts, last season. The 2015 No. 1 overall pick has made 89 career starts, including 70 for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2015-19. He also has played for the New Orleans Saints from 2020-23 and the Cleveland Browns in 2024. Winston has totaled 24,792 passing yards, 156 touchdowns and 113 interceptions in 108 career games, and owns a 36-53 record as a starting quarterback after losing both of his starts last season.
