Shanghai Fosun Pharmaceutical (Group) Co., Ltd., known as Fosun Pharma, sold approximately 6.00% of its Indian subsidiary Gland Pharma for ₹27.996 billion, or about $296.3 million, while retaining control after completion. Fosun Pharma Singapore sold 9.897 million shares through block trades and centralized bidding on Sept. 4, 2026, at an average ₹2,828.78 per share, a 2.72% discount to Gland Pharma's previous close. The transfer is expected to complete on Sept. 7, reducing Fosun Pharma's stake from about 51.76% to 45.76%; Gland Pharma will remain consolidated in the group's financial statements. Proceeds will primarily support research and development, the company's up to HK$1 billion H-share repurchase program, and repayment of interest-bearing debt. Because the transaction involves a partial sale by the controlling shareholder of a controlled subsidiary, proceeds will increase net assets rather than be recognized as investment income, with the final impact subject to audit. Fosun Pharma's H shares rose 4.63% to HK$16.95 in early trading on Sept. 7. The company also reported first-half 2026 revenue of CNY20.442 billion, up 4.75% year on year; non-GAAP net profit attributable to shareholders of CNY1.144 billion, up 19.09%; and net operating cash flow of CNY2.424 billion, up 13.59%.
