Yuhan has signed a strategic partnership with Novartis Korea for the domestic distribution, sales and promotion of Remibrutinib, an oral treatment for chronic spontaneous urticaria. Yuhan will manage all distribution in South Korea and promote the drug in clinics and physician offices, while Novartis Korea will cover general hospitals. Remibrutinib selectively inhibits Bruton's tyrosine kinase, reducing the release of inflammatory mediators from mast cells and basophils rather than only blocking histamine receptors. South Korea's Ministry of Food and Drug Safety approved it in April for adults whose symptoms are inadequately controlled by H1 antihistamines. Global Phase 3 REMIX-1 and REMIX-2 trials showed significant UAS7 improvement versus placebo at week 12, sustained through week 24, while a 52-week analysis confirmed durable improvements in itching and wheals. After U.S. approval in September last year, the drug generated $19 million in 2025 revenue, followed by quarterly revenue of $37 million in the first quarter and $64 million in the second quarter of this year. Novartis has also reported positive Phase 3 results in relapsing multiple sclerosis and is preparing global regulatory submissions. Analysts estimate annual sales could reach $9 billion if indications expand to multiple sclerosis, chronic inducible urticaria and food allergies. The deal supports Yuhan's strategy of combining external-product commercialization with development of its own allergy candidate, lesigercept, while reimbursement under South Korea's national health insurance remains a key determinant of market access and Yuhan's eventual revenue contribution.
