A white-hat hacker who exploited a Liquid Network vulnerability has told Blockstream that most of the BTC will be returned after the flaw is fixed. Communication has taken place through OP_RETURN messages (blockchain data fields) and PGP-encrypted text, including technical information readable only by the attacker’s team. Blockstream initiated contact, and the attacker said all nodes must be patched before funds are safely returned. Discussions remain ongoing.
