India’s BSE Sensex closed about 0.5% lower at 76,132.8 on Monday, its lowest level in more than six weeks, reversing the previous session’s gains as technology shares led the decline. Investors weighed extended US-Iran hostilities, elevated crude oil prices and concerns about further Federal Reserve rate hikes. Foreign institutional investors remained net sellers of equities on Friday, reinforcing the cautious tone. Infosys, Tech Mahindra and HCLTech fell between 0.9% and 3.8%, while infrastructure, telecom and defence stocks were more resilient. L&T and Bharti Airtel each gained 0.6%. Tata Consultancy Services also remained in focus after announcing plans to invest 700 billion rupees in an AI data-centre campus in Telangana.
