Samsung will recruit approximately 6,000 people through its second-half open hiring campaign, with 19 affiliates participating and applications accepted on Samsung Careers from the 8th through the 15th. The intake would bring the group’s planned hiring for the year to about 12,000, following a similar number recruited in the first half. Participating companies include Samsung Electronics, Samsung C&T, Samsung Biologics, Samsung Bioepis, Samsung Life Insurance, Samsung Display, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, Samsung SDI, Samsung SDS, Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, Samsung Card, Samsung Securities, Samsung Heavy Industries, Samsung E&A, Hotel Shilla, Cheil Worldwide, S-1, Samsung Medical Center and Samsung Welstory. The selection process includes job-fit assessments, the GSAT, interviews and health screenings; software applicants will take an SW competency test and design applicants will undergo portfolio reviews. Samsung is prioritizing artificial intelligence and semiconductor expertise as Samsung Electronics commits a record ₩110 trillion, or about $81.7 billion, to capital expenditures and research and development this year. The group plans to hire 60,000 people over five years through 2030 while expanding domestic investment in semiconductors, AI, biotech, batteries and displays. Samsung’s open recruitment system began in 1957 and has continued through economic crises, marking its 70th year. Separately, its Samsung Software Academy for Youth has produced about 9,400 graduates since 2019, while roughly 1,600 National Skills Competition winners have received special hiring opportunities.
