Lithuania’s annual inflation rate rose to 6.1% in August 2026 from 5.9% in July, marking the highest reading since August 2023. The increase was led by faster price growth in transport, which reached 15% from 12.5%, and housing and utilities, which rose to 15.8% from 15.1%. Inflation also accelerated across recreation, sport and culture; personal care, social protection, and miscellaneous goods and services; furnishings and household equipment; restaurants and hotels; and information and communication. Price growth eased for alcoholic beverages and tobacco, clothing and footwear, and education, while health inflation was unchanged. Food and non-alcoholic beverages remained in deflation, at minus 2.0%. On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell 0.1% in August after rising 0.2% in July.
