Construction output in the Czech Republic rose 1.8% year-on-year in July 2026, accelerating from a downwardly revised 0.5% increase in June. Building construction grew 4.9%, while civil engineering declined 3.4%. Authorities granted 5,622 building permits, up 4.0% from a year earlier, but the floor area of newly permitted buildings fell 16.9%, mainly because of a decline in non-residential projects after large production and storage areas were permitted last year. Construction began on 2,935 dwellings, an 11.7% annual increase, while completed dwellings rose 46.1% to 3,328. Both housing measures were driven by multi-dwelling buildings. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, construction output increased 0.4% in July after falling 0.3% in June.
