Euro zone investor confidence strengthened in September, with the Sentix index (investor confidence survey gauge) rising to 5.1 points from 0.9 in August. The reading surpassed the 2.0-point forecast from analysts polled by Reuters and marked the index's highest level since February 2022. Improvements in both current conditions and expectations drove the increase: the current situation subindex rose to -3.3 points from -8.0, while the expectations gauge gained 3.5 points to 13.8. Germany also recorded a fourth consecutive monthly increase, with its headline index climbing to -2.8 points from -11.9, the highest reading since July 2025. Sentix said the German economy was contributing significantly to the broader improvement. The survey covered 1,052 investors, including 209 institutional investors, and was conducted between August 3 and August 5.
