Ethereum Foundation’s protocol team has completed a unified assessment of 62 proposed EIPs for Hegotá, the upgrade planned after Glamsterdam. FOCIL (EIP-7805) and Frame Transactions (EIP-8141) were designated S-tier core upgrades. FOCIL would strengthen censorship resistance through forced inclusion lists, while Frame Transactions would add native account abstraction, allow users to pay gas without holding ETH and provide an upgrade path for quantum-resistant signatures. Fifteen proposals were rated A-tier, eight B-tier and 28 were rejected, including issuance-policy proposals EIP-8363 and EIP-8375. The reported category counts total 53, leaving nine proposals outside the stated breakdown. Ethereum’s Layer 1 is targeted to achieve quantum resistance by December 2029, making Hegotá a key milestone for keeping the broader transition on schedule. About 60 specialists from nine cluster teams previously submitted 397 evaluations, with client teams due to submit ranked preferences by September 10, 2026. Hegotá is expected in 2027, and a Reddit AMA is scheduled for September 16 at 14:00 UTC.
