Kraken Pro launched time-weighted average price (TWAP) orders on Sept. 7 across its web, desktop and mobile platforms, allowing users to divide a large parent order into smaller child orders over a selected window of one minute to seven days. Traders can choose a market, direction, total size and market or limit execution, while each child order uses immediate-or-cancel execution at the best available bid or ask and remains subject to any parent limit price. Kraken also supports submitting, amending, canceling and monitoring TWAP orders through REST and WebSocket APIs. Controls include limits on parent size relative to expected market volume, child-order price deviation and the minimum interval between actions, although Kraken did not publish universal thresholds. The exchange cautioned that TWAP does not guarantee the best price or a full fill; liquidity, limit settings, volatility and timing can leave part of an order unexecuted. The launch followed an earlier September increase in ETH/USD spot-margin leverage to 20x for eligible accounts in selected markets, a separate change affecting borrowed exposure rather than execution timing.
