Bitcoin’s 90-day correlation with gold has risen to 0.57 from 0.21 in March, while its correlation with the Nasdaq-100 has fallen to 0.22 from 0.57, according to Glassnode data. Other market estimates place the gold correlation near 0.59, its highest since 2020. The shift strengthens the digital-gold narrative and challenges the view that Bitcoin primarily trades as a leveraged technology asset. Bitcoin’s correlation with the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield is roughly -0.17, compared with about -0.41 for gold, indicating that Bitcoin has recently been less sensitive than gold to rising borrowing costs. ARK Invest founder Cathie Wood said Bitcoin’s strength against gold was promising and supported its longer-term role as a monetary asset, technology revolution and new asset class. Market commentator MandoCT identified $83,000 as an important sell wall: a break above it could reinforce the repricing thesis, while failure could leave Bitcoin exposed to another pullback. Earlier data cited a 90-day gold correlation of +0.56 and a Nasdaq-100 correlation of roughly +0.30, while a separate 30-day comparison put Bitcoin’s gold correlation at +0.72 and its Nasdaq Composite correlation at 0.22. The broader move follows a period in which gold, Bitcoin, silver and platinum rallied amid purchases of billions of dollars in long-dated U.S. Treasury bonds by Scott Bessent under Quantitative Easing (QE) Lite.
