The Ethereum Foundation has published ratings for all 62 Ethereum Improvement Proposals under consideration for the planned Hegotá network upgrade, based on 397 assessments from about 60 researchers, engineers and other protocol specialists across nine Protocol Cluster teams. The tier list records internal views rather than guaranteeing mainnet inclusion, as client developers, researchers and the wider Ethereum community continue evaluating scope, implementation costs and testing requirements. The Protocol Cluster has also committed to making Ethereum’s Layer 1 (base network) resistant to quantum-computer attacks by December 2029. That effort spans account systems, validator signatures, consensus, data availability and zero-knowledge proofs, with native account abstraction (programmable transaction authorization) potentially supporting migration to multiple signature systems. The Foundation will discuss the rankings, disputed proposals and broader priorities in a Reddit AMA on Sept. 16 at 14:00 UTC.
